hello i’m 21 years old and i have been reading yaoi since i was a 7th grader lol. Is anyone else starting to feel like they’re growing out of this phase? for me im getting deathly bored of it because ive been here for so long, and i am tired of chasing the high i once had when i first discovered this website. the storylines are boring and childish now i don’t know if its because im a grown woman or what lol
I think everyone who has read a lot of bl goes through this period. Find something new to read. Pick up gl or hetero romance. Maybe venture into something that doesn't have romance at all. Read some books or novels. After some time away, you might rediscover your love of bl.

As someone who has been reading BL since I was 14 (27 now), there have been times where I read it less (or not at all) because it didn't hit the same way. If you don't think it's giving you pleasure and enjoyment like it used to, maybe it's time to take a break and widen your horizons! reply
stop reading 'yaoi' then, like spend less time with it, its not easy but you HAVE to. you're getting deathly bored and can't seem to read another genre except BL? yeah that's a problem, your dopamine receptors are fried.

If you're only reading yaoi, you'll obviously feel tired. I've been reading anything since I was a kid, and if I'm not reading, I'm writing, if I'm not writing, I'm playing, if I'm not playing, I'm doing another thing.

when there's actually a plot its interesting but ive read majority of the ones that actually have plots + good artwork

Honestly, as someone who has also read bl since middle school, I've also gotten bored of bl. Personally, I think that it's a good idea to start branching out to new genres. 21 yr old here. I started reading when I was like 11-12. It does get a bit boring at times, which is why I like to read almost any genre available. I don't just spend time reading like I used to. Sometimes I'll watch a series or anime, play games, draw, play with my pets, vc with friends, ect.
