why does josei smut sexualize women more than men
i read male gaze hentai, i see detailed drawings of fully naked girls blushing crossing their eyes screaming out and everything. they barely show the guy and if they do he's always fully clothed and expressionless
im like "ah makes sense this is for straight guys" i try reading smut written by straight women thinking it would be the complete opposite. its literally the same thing. they dont even bother drawing men's nipples
like im not some porn addict but it makes me super confused. do women just not find men's bodies attractive? they have no problem sexualizing men in yaoi so why not in straight romance?
Lowkey I know what u mean in straight smut designed for women I often feel like the guys aren’t even enjoying it sometimes? I have seen it a few times but in general the male characters rarely blush, and even if they do it’s like one tiny little line - nothing like when a female character blushes. Tbh I find this annoying af too. I'm a girl and i really don't like reading josei smut bc it's always from the male character's pov. They never properly show the guy's body and even less, him in pleasure yk. I want to see his emotions and him having fun too. Why is it only the girl that's breathing hard, moaning and blushing reply
dont read josei much n this is just a guess but ive heard that when men consume porn they focus on the woman (more attractive to the physical) but when women consume porn they also focus more on the woman, namely how she is feeling/experiencing (more attractive to the emotional) if that makes sense :-) reply
i think both genres are meant to focus on the woman but for different reasons, for hentai- obviously it’s meant for a male audience who are mainly straight, obviously they won’t put effort into the guy because the guy is not the main focus, it is the woman. the target audience did not click on it to watch a man enjoy himself, they want to see t...... 2 reply
My assumption is to bc they wanna cater to both audiences. Hentai or overall porn industry is very much male dominated and women will read male catered series but the opposite? Rarely. Add a male gaze fmc and boom you attracted male audience as well meaning more sales ¯_(ツ)_/¯ reply
Idk I think they compensate that by making it more about the situation, or being a bit more story based. Thats kind of the reason I don’t really enjoy it that much. I’d I want smut that genuinely is good and actually feels sexual not silly I go for novels. I definitely recommend novels for smut. And if you want to find sexy guys it depends on y...... reply
