If you’re already out, take them aside for a private talk and confront them there?
It’s better if you set up a time to talk with them alone though.
Try and keep a level head and don’t intimidate them so they feel comfortable to actually talk in case it’s just a misunderstanding or petty issue you both can get behind!

Me and my friends usually mess around like this with each other this way. Like with insults/backhanded compliments. Sometimes I don't pick up when they're actually being a prick. But when they are being a prick instead of playful I'll sit there and nod my head with my bitch face. Sometimes it works and sometimes I plan petty shit. reply

i hate direct confrontation so i just look straight at them for a few seconds without saying anything before changing the subject, most of the time (if they didnt mean it) they feel the need to clarify. it also helps the others in thr group notice their passive aggressiveness instead of it getting lost in the convo
