Im actually so afraid of death I always remind myself that Its going to happen so much time later but I think I will still be terrifed of the idea even in my 80s(if I dont die till that age) Im not a religious person so I dont believe in after life but Im so scared of the idea that going to blank and not have a existence but It feels wrong to believe in religion just because Im scared of after death? Im curious of your opinions about the topic
Every living person would die at some point and while we are living, just make it best out of it by being kind to others and do good deed. I have religion so sometimes i fear death, most of the time i fear death bcuz the process of dying. I dont want painful death. i understand this so much i had the same fear and still have but mostly of other people around me(my family) i literally cried to my mom i dont want you to die etc ( i was 7) and she told me, that "i dont have to worry and i should live my life now and i shouldnt think about negative thinks". unfortunately death is inevitable and its gonna happen, ...... 1 reply
well who isn't really? it's literally our self preservation/ survival instinct, no matter how much a person claims to not be afraid of death, i'm sure that deep down- they very much share the same feelings as everyone else. imo, life itself is a comfort zone i.e we all fear death because it's an unknown and uncharted area only the departed ones kn...... reply
I don't know if I can be much help but, you could research different religions and find if any of them are something that make sense to you and that you would believe in, but don't force yourself to believe, otherwise you'll be left with doubt and I don't think that would solve your problem.

I have never really been scared of death, I was mainly curious about it to the point it was almost dangerous. When I was younger, my grandma died and for a few months I processing her death, and then I began to wonder about death. I used to fear death a lot especially when I was a child. When the topic of religion and heaven and hell came up the whole thing scared me so much. I think that's what also caused my lack of sleep and nightmares. Not only did death its self scared me it was the the thought of going to hell. It's normal to be afraid of death no matter what religion you are or even if you are not a religious person, because death is not avoidable no matter how u will try, even if you are in your 100s age you'll still die, and even you are healthy you still die. I used to feel the same tbh but as an religious person I was always just scared of the possibility of ending up in hell but for some reason i'm not scared anymore. Not being edgy but I find the idea of finally resting very comforting I always imagine nothingness after death and I like it.life is beautiful ig...so many beautiful things for sure but ...... reply
Hmm it depends what aspect of death you are afraid of the pyschial pain or the thoughts of perishing. I understand you are not religious but i feel like the assurance or the solace you want to find about death is not gonna come from other ppl bc no one actually experience it and comes back.
