Are people actually scared of death??
I see manga/book/movie characters being scared shitless of death, doing anything they can to escape it or cheat it in some way. Not to be edgy or anything, but unless it's like, the slow agonizing death from an uncurable desease, idgaf. I'm not into pain, and it's not like I want to die, but it doesn't feel like it's that big of a deal. It happens.
Like, at the slight sign that my life could be over (burning building, lost at sea, held at gunpoint, whatever scenario that would require too much effort in order to survive) I'd just roll over and die.
That's what u say now, but the moment you'll be in the face of death, u'll definitely be scared shitless. Plus, humans naturally have a fear of the unknown, esp death (which we can literally only guess about) reply
As per a korean drama in the 1990s, feat. Jang Dong Gun, that I watched as a kid: "Theres nothing scary about death. The road that leads to your death, though, is much scarier."

Erm, it is 100% normal to be scared of death. If people weren't scared to die, there would be no people. Death means no reproduction, no reproduction means no more life. It's because death is one of those things that human beings have never actually been able to find out what it is. What happens after it, is it truly over and there is nothing after it. reply
I mean I get why people are so scared of dying but honestly it's not that big of a deal in my opinion I mean we all die in the end so I'm honestly not scared in fact I hope I die by the time I'm like 40/50 cause I honestly see no point in living past that but again I am suicidal so idk if you should take my word for it 3 reply

Because most people have a reason to keep living?? People are afraid of death because it’s in our core to be. The fear of death is what keeps us alive.
Personally, I used to have the same mentality as you and then I got a therapist. Realizing that life is enjoyable and not just something that happens to you is what makes you afraid of losing it...... reply
In my theory we dont have a soul where only made up on our own intelligence and consciousness i believe the afterlife was made up by the elderly and young people to ease there mind from the unstoppable fate of death, personally I love god he has my heart and Jesus to.
