i was wondering what the general consesus on real person fiction was? i don't think irene and seulgi from red velvet are going to track me down and punch me in the face for reading fan fiction of them kissing each other but i was wondering what other people thought about it.
Real person fiction always makes me uncomfortable.
Like, those aren’t fictional characters but like real life people. If you search their name, you don’t get a movie, show, or book… you get an actual person.
It’s one thing if it’s someone historical, with little known facts (Jack the ripper), it’s quite another thing when you can go t...... reply
I personally don't like it, it's disgusting if it's about real people cause your imagination can do some wild things, truly a blessing and a curse. reply
Tbh I know that it's disgusting amd wierd to write fiction about real people. I mean most of the fanfictions about real people are full of smut. But still knowing that I've always loved reading fanfictions. I just like thinking of them as if I'm reading any normal series with the real people just being actors performing that role. Involving real people is a no for me. At that point, it's no longer "just fiction" imo. I also feel similarly about shipping real people too. I don't like putting those kinds of expectations and thoughts onto real people. It feels invasive and dismissive of their autonomy. reply
