Pick up hobbies, join circles (like discords) that center around those hobbies, and be social. People who naturally like your personality, and gel well with you will appreciate you. Try not to be too fake or try too hard, cause people can either see through it or be put off by it, or both. 2 reply

Idk. I first scope out someone who looks somewhat nice and friend shaped. If they don’t look very talkative, start the conversation closer to when you have to leave for something, that way you can avoid awkward silence and end the first convo on a good note. I ask them the following conversation starters

I don't really have boundaries so I just start chatting with people irl in like anime cons or like cashiers and yap for a while and usually I just gain a new friend (and free stuff if it's a store) reply
On god, I used to be able to do it cause i wasnt afraid of being cringe but now im terrified. I have offline friends but I need more online friends and its hard bro.
