When the author draws too many close up/zoomed in shots of the characters faces. Yes I'm talking about Dear Door lol. I remember reading it a long time ago and thinking, man, it's good I know what these characters are feeling by their expressions but wtf is going on in their environment because all I see is their god damn faces
