Treat them like a customer,, give a friendly smile, offer to help, and show genuine curiosity about them. Ask questions to learn about their interests, even if they're different from yours. Compliment them when it feels right and celebrate holidays or events together. Just keep it light and positive!

Everyone ends up finding something in common. Seriously. Think outside the box. Like if not books, music, movies, food, hobbies, etc... then maybe it's future jobs or politics (careful with that one) or animals or crushing on the same celebrities or even just hating the same stuff.
