Why do people think that depression is cool?
like girls at my school are acting like their world ended because a senior rejected them....they try to cut their veins with the blade of a sharpener. One person brought a knife at school and tried to cut their veins. LIKE BRO if you wanna die go die at your house why you gotta do it at school and get expelled? and the reason is always because of a rejection.
it's possible that parents of these kids dgaf about them, they are like invisible at home, so unconsciously they are trying to be seen and validated outside of home
p.s. it's possible that you feel that no one sees your pain too so you are annoyed with these kids because they reflect you and also they are gutsy enough to try to get validation anyw...... 1 reply
In my experience with people like this, they’re doing it publicly because they need the validation that comes with attention. Possibly since they aren’t receiving the necessary attention at home or from that senior. Sometimes people mix up love and affection with attention and it’s honestly not their fault. The amount of girls I've seen cutting themselves due to "boy issues". I think it's shared psychosis at this point. You had fight with your boyfriend, yay cut yourself with a cardboard cutter and act quirky in class so someone notices, then you tuck your hair behind your ear and give that Bella swan soulless eye stare and say "uh.... it's nothing......... reply
An adult needs to get involved and help these kids out. Whether or not you think they are doing it for attention is besides the point, there is something wrong if someone is actively hurting themselves.
There is never a single reason for self harm, it is always a lot of everything. It's not "oh a boy rejected me" it is literally everything.

i mean they probably don't... self harm isn't something you can just do for funsies; i've been diagnosed w depression for yrs and have had urges to self harm before that i never went through with bc my aversion to physical pain was stronger than my depression. it's also unlikely that the reason is always because of a rejection. that could be a cove...... 1 reply
