Can people with BO really not smell themselves??
BO = BODY ODOR
I have this friend who is pretty but me and everyone around us are aware that she smells bad, which is weird bc I can tell she usually takes care of her appearance. It's already been months since one of us noticed it, another friend tried to tell her but she just flipped him off lol.
To strangers here, I do hope that you save yourself from the embarassment and perform proper hygiene and shower regularly.
Yes kind of like how everyone's houses have a distinct smell to them, when you go to someone's house it smells (not in a bad way generally but you are certain you can smell something), but you can't detect any odor from your own house because you're used to it. I have the same experience with a friend and i also wonder. Like someone else said, nose blindness is a thing and if you're used to a smell you won't detect it.
But at the same time i wonder... what about when you leave the shower? Cause ik that when I don't shower for a few days I stop smelling myself, but when I start stinking throughout the day ...... 1 reply
Yeah, your nose gets used to the smells you are constantly surrounded by, you will usually be able to smell your BO if you don't smell bad all of the time tho. There's also the possibility that she does know she smells bad but she's embarrassed and thus reacted badly to someone pointing it out.
You might want to find a way of telling her so that sh...... reply
