Some Women and bl…
With the amount of women/straight women reading bl you’d think they’re reading it because they’re both men but they don’t treat bottoms as men. Bottoms are constantly portrayed AND treated like women(in a weird caricaturistic/misogynistic way) … not to say that men that are feminine are automatically seen as women, I don’t think that’s the case much irl. I’m talking about in the bl realm. This is just something I’ve noticed a lot and I wonder if anyone else agrees or noticed the same thing. I’m always finding they’re throwing the word “slut” around for sexually active bl bottoms but rarely for bl tops. (The bottoms are usually untouched virgins too…) like it’s so weird especially since the audience is primarily female it weirds me out how people are accepting this. Like the dynamic of straight women reading bl is so weirdly interesting to me (like how some find it more acceptable men get raped in comics than women) Are women reading bl treating bl bottoms as self inserts?? Do you guys find this weird? What’s your thoughts!?
Eh, I have seen both. Some people are more willing to excuse a bottom for sleeping around than a top and are more grossed out by the top sleeping around. There is a reason why 99.99% of love triangle BL is about two tops and one bottom. Way less people would be unlikely to like a story with two bottoms and one top where the top strings along both o...... 2 reply
Ha ha, tell me you are a boy without telling me you are a boy! Go finish puberty, get laid, learn how to actually please a human woman and then maybe you could have the slightest idea of what women want, like, desire and FEEL.

Dont know if this is what you’re talking about but what comes to mind is the uke from Yatamomo, a victim of rape and abuse all his life.
He behaves in a very promiscuous manner and makes questionable decisions (that makes sense when you consider his past), and I’ve seen countless of people slut shaming him, calling him dirty, whore, etc. I’v...... 2 reply
yes i 100% agree some people will go out of their way to try and convince you that they read bl because "since there's no woman, its harder to self insert". i don't believe that at all. what i do believe is that since the mc is a man and not a woman, the woman reader doesn't feel like he's competition.

I had the main character heesung (the bottom) in mind while making this post. I just found it weird so many people hated him even though he was simply reacting to a shitty situation he was in yet he’s called “whiny” and honestly I think most women I have a similar experience to him having a baby by a man he doesn’t know or like, broke/homel...... reply
Yuhhhhh, that’s why I read only peak stuff (ignore my reading/want to read/read stuff rn, I promise that’s not the stuff I usually like I promise) 2 reply

i genuinely just enjoy it i find it warming. the art, characters and some what the plots n ive actually never self inserted nor thought of an uke as a slut for sleeping around because tops do it so why discriminate on the bottom for it lol and i don’t find it more acceptable for men to get graped in comics then women because grape goes both way...... 1 reply
Mmm maybe but then I think personally, there are a lot of straight romance like this too. I’m not sure about in the manga/manhua etc. realm, BUT IN THE ROMANCE BOOK REALM. I’ve seen women on TikTok read descriptions of straight romance and I’m like”this is the same if not WAY worse than the bl I read lol”. So idk. ALSO I think it’s a c...... 1 reply
I mean you just have to look at the prevalence of rape in bl. I'm not defending these stories by any means, but the reaction to rape in a hetero story is much harsher than a gay one. Even something like the trope of setting up that a guy's a cheater or scummy or something just to justify them being raped. 1 reply
