Do you believe in separating art from artist?
for example, melanie (yes i know its old) i love her songs so much, its so nostalgic, but saying that in public/social media would make you the most hated person in the room. tbh i have been avoiding her entire SA case ,willingly want to stay ignorant, because knowing the truth or the full of it, would ruin these songs which i loved so much when i was a teenager.
no, when I listen to music and I happen to know that the artist is a horrible person that connection to them is immediately cut for me, all I think about when I hear their music is the things they did.
with melanie, I genuinely adored her, when those allegations came out l couldn't force myself to listen to her music anymore.
