What's a really specific ick that can make you drop a story??
Like something that's not in any way "bad" or "problematic" something that's a non-issue. For me it's sex scenes that feel sterile, idk how to explain it but some sex scenes lack intimacy and feel cold. im not that much of a fan of smut in the first place and i mostly skip them but i can appreciate a well built sex scenes with chemistry and sensuality to it, think sex scenes can be extremely good ways to show the connection between the love interests and good plot devices but honestly a good scenes of the leads just eye fucking each other with good chemistry, sensuality and intimacy is hotter than a lot of sex scenes lately
Very specific, but when the male lead knows every move and makes no mistake (unless it’s rape…). I call it the always one step ahead ml. I just like it when the male lead is sometimes wrong too and realizes his mistakes. It’s more realistic for me.

when they show children but the story had lots of smut beforehand, and they show the kid after they have sex as well (not immediately but after they like pick up the kid or sth)
this probs applies to a lot of omegaverse which is why I do tend to steer away from them (low tide in twilight...)

When one of the characters had a secret crush on the other for YEARS and made a convoluted plan to get their crush. It can be well done, but a lot of the time it sounds manipulative.
It's usually the big plot twist of the story and I'm already 4 of 6 chapters in, it's frustrating. reply
When the MC is awfully naive when it comes to ML but ML still decides manipulation and coercive rape is the right course of action to get the MC to be with them
