Latino or Latinx
I've got a question for the Latino people here. Do you prefer (as a whole) to be referred to as Latino or Latinx? It seems to function in the same way that "ils" would in French (group of males only or mix of males and females), so I don't understand the reasoning for the creation of the word Latinx beyond being gender neutral, or it's pronunciation, or if it is even used outside of the context of being politically correct in the U.S.
Actually Latino is the gendered term. So we changed it to Latinx to be inclusive to nonbinary members but it’s hard to say in Spanish. So we recently changed it to Latine. Personally I use Latinx in English and Latine in Spanish but those are both terms now in place reply
