Do you think Omegaverse is overrated? And don't get me wrong, I like omegaverse and some of my fav mangas/manhwas are omegaverse. But, I think omegaverse really taking over yaoi quite a lot these days and sometimes when I click on a manga/manhwa and seeing the summary and the tags being omegaverse, i can't help but rolled my eyes and say "Ugh... omegaverse again...( ￣-￣)"
This is only my opinion, but I think omegaverse stories are kinda repetitive and predictable. It's always either an omega who despise alphas, but then meet an alpha who is his fated mate; or an omega who accidentally went into heat and an alpha help him; or a beta/alpha who then "unexpectedly" turned into an omega. Most of them is always goes with this kind of premise and it just the same thing being done over and over again. But at the same time, it also makes me think that making a fresh and good omegaverse story is really hard and when there is a really good omegaverse, it's like finding a gem. There are a lot of omegaverse stories out here, but only a few are a really good one. Just my opinion.
Nah omegaverse ain't overrated isn't it high time we normalised male pregnancy? Like who wouldn't love to breed a twink? Sure, it does get repetitive sometimes, still that won't make me love the omegas less than i do! Yes it’s overrated and I mostly like it because of mpreg. I would’ve also find heat and rut very hot because high sex drive but most of omegaverse manhwa stories are so rapey and non consensual like I want the omega to scream yes than the typical no stop bs. i dun rlly mind and care if something is overrated, there's this common thought pattern that if somehing is overrated it's gonna be good, most of the time it's correct, other tines it's not. now not all omegaverse stories are good, i enjoy reading it, but a lot of times i encounter stories that makes me wanna get back the last few hours i spent rea...... reply
Omegaverse could actually be such an interesting concept of people went into them to write about gender and criticizing gender roles but most are just "let's take the misogyny women face and give it to them with no commentary whatsoever" like i get it it's for people with breeding fetishes but sometimes i like when stories at least try to be deep. ...... reply
I actually think its UNDERRATED. Theres like. So much you can do with it but all the stories make it so basiccc.
You can delve more into the instincts, the found family side of it, the way its based on wolves and how that affects the people, the differences between alphas betas omegas, female and male, courting rituals, nesting instincts, how does...... 1 reply

I liked omegaverse because it was the more intense, animalistic, instinct driven sibling of the soulmate/soulmark trope. I like that those tropes for the certainty they provide in the characters connection at least. What the author decides to do from there is interesting.

I hate omegaverse so yes I think it's very overrated... I've tried but I really can't understand the appeal. I can get wanting to see a couple you like have kids, but they could just adopt one. I prefer found family in general anyways so reading about two men being able to have biological kids just doesn't appeal to me. And I don't even like readin...... reply
