How do you know if someone's queer?

I KNOW I've just recently ranted about being confused about my friend's motive previously, BUT I've decided not to think too much of it. I seriously am crushing HARD on our class president, she's legit someone I respect and admire. The thing is, I don't know if she swings that way or not. Help a gal out. PLEASE.
