I keep blaming/hating myself for what happen today.

So it’s the weekend and my family and I went to a theatre to watch the conjuring. The movie started lights are turned off and this family comes in my row of seating they are waving their bright phones around and are kinda loud looking for their seats I’m like 2 seats away from them. (Family consists of mom, 2 teens and a guy). During the beginning of the movie (about 15-20 min) the teens are kind loud like normal talking voices so I shush them the typical (shhh) and one of the teens said “what the fuck” and I thought that was rude cuz they are kinda loud like I can hear them giggling and talking. They do that a couple more times until i finally said “excuse me can you lower your voices” and then they go ballistic on me saying “why are you telling me shut up” and mom chimes in too saying stuff I think she said something like “don’t talk to my kids” like that or something and teens give attitude when I’m trying to explain that they are a little too loud and if they can quiet down. I get emotional and start tearing up because this is my first ever confrontation with a stranger and I was trying to ask them to quiet down but got attitude’s instead. So I get up and try to leave but their legs are blocking the way so I say excuse me but cuz I’m emotional my voices cracks and is pretty low so they didn’t hear it so I push past their legs then the 2 teens start kicking my left leg multiple times (was a little red when I checked) and I said “ow why are you kicking me!?” Mom then gets up and says “why are you hitting us!” I didn’t hit them I had an icee drink in my hand and my bag on my shoulder if I moved my bag would slip down. And I said “I didn’t hit them” and left to call staff and asked them to call security cuz they did assault me (kicked me multiple times) since this was my first confrontation I had a panic attack and was crying super hard I couldn’t breath and my heart was hurting also felt light head since I was hyperventilating. The police asked what happened and I explained and asked if I wanted to press charges I said “no I want to talk it out and get an apology from them” then they asked staff to pull up the camera (blurry) and they went to ask the other family said my story matched (mom said she thought I attacked them cuz I pushed past their legs trying to get out)??? How does that mean I hit them? (Also they called my sis a b*tch when she was trying to mediate and ask what happen my sis tried asking them and the teens just giving attitude land raised her hand and said “don’t interrupt me while I’m watching the movie”) (also I was still hyperventilating the whole time talked it was like on and off) So in the end all they got was a warning from the police for kicking me also staff took note of the family if they caused problems again while I didn’t get an apology from them for kicking me. Cop did say that I was very mature about it so that did make me feel better but I was still bitter since I think they still stayed to watch the movie while my family got refunds but left to go home.

I keep blaming myself for ruining my family’s time at the movie and hate myself for it like I wanna k*ll myself every time I remember it. Am I at fault? Should I keep blaming and hating myself for it? I just think back and think I should’ve just kept my mouth shut and never speak again in the theater and public.
