Something I don't genuinely get.
Is how are people okay with lolis and shotas because it's "fictional" like bruh that's a depiction of a child, doing sexual acts. You're weird! Like would they even have a problem with it if it's Live-action?? Cause technically "it's fictional" but like you'd know it's wrong to see an actual human child do that even if they're acting.
You never see in freaking movies where a child is depicted NUDE even if they're literally like the dead victim. You'd only see half of their body. Both are like fiction because those could be done with CGI but still, even by law that's punishable.
I studied psychology, learned about pedophillia and holy shit it's not like psychopath people where they just can't genuinely have empathy and feel anything, while pedophiles are just literally pedos. Nothing lacking in their Brain, they're self-aware of their crimes. Psychopath is actually something of impairment, like wtf I'd give them more empathy cause they're built that way from babies.
Because they want to feel better about themselves and convince that it's okay as long as it's fictional.
They defend sexualized depictions of children in fiction, like “lolis” or “shotas” and try to justify it by saying “it’s just fiction,” as if the lack of real world victims somehow makes it okay. But that completely ignores the psy...... 2 reply
I say this not as a defence for these people—as it’s a very nuanced topic in and of itself—but just to give some perspective for the sake of conversation; there are some people with these sorts of proclivities that do actually despise themselves for having them.
It is objectively and morally wrong to sexualise a child, no one is denying this...... 2 reply
this reminds me of a time here some user proudly declared to me "my favorite character is a 1000yr old lady (vampire perhaps) trapped in the body of a loli, that doesnt make me a pedo".
this to say, ppl will go to any lenght to justify their attraction towards children 2 reply
Lolis and shotas don’t look like real children. They are stylized drawings. There is no problem with being attracted to fictional underage characters in live action so long as they are played by adults. I’m sorry if it’s too hard to understand that people base their morals off of whether they actually harm real people. Not to mention pedophil...... 3 reply
Yes, but those laws apply to real life children. It's like saying there shouldn't be murder in novels because it's illegal in real life.
Fiction is made to safely explore some of those darker realities. People can't be punished for their thoughts, weither it remains within the realm of ideas or is put into writing format, as long as that creation ...... 1 reply
I think it's very simply just cognitive dissonance. Accepting the reality that sexualizing children is disgusting, taboo, harmful, unacceptable, etc, they invent reasons that it's okay because the reality of it is too disagreeable and uncomfortable for them. reply
