Why is yuri not popular enough?

I'll say it bluntly, yuri has very little gooning potential for the sex obsessed generation like ours. Majority of people who read yaoi read it for the smut (sorry this is the truth y'all are too afraid to acknowledge), and are straight women, they probably aren't into women on women action, and get off to the penetration aspect of yaoi sex.
