Okay so, I’ve been on this site for god knows how long. I’ve read tons of manga, manhwa, manhua, and novels — I’m not illiterate. I’ve even published stuff on AO3.
What I don’t get is: why do so many people just forget about the victims of SA in BL and yaoi?
I’ve come across so many works that are cute, fluffy, and funny on the surface. But if you look closely at the details, there’s clear SA in there. And the comment section is just… so forgetting... Like, sure, maybe it’s “needed for the plot,” but is it really necessary?
And when you actually point it out, people start blaming the victim instead. Like… are we even reading the same story??
tl;dr
Okay so, I have been reading yaoi since webtoons weren't a thing, manhwas were scarce (at least on the internet) and manhuas always had a historical background, and, since then, honestly more then than now (thank god), there has always existed rape and sexual assault in too many stories.
