Almost ruined Christmas for my nephew

my nephew asked me if the North Pole was real and I said “no, there’s not actually any land there.”
And then he asked “well then where does Santa live?”
And my mom glared into the back of my head so hard at thatI THOUGHT HE DIDNT BELIEVE IN SANTA IF HE WAS ASKING IF THE NORTH POLE WAS REAL??
Anyways uhm… my nephew now believes Santa lives in an island off the northern coast of Greenland.
