BE HONEST: do yall (girls) self insert as the bottom in yaoi/bl?

Im the type to not touch a yaoi if the uke isn’t absolutely jaw droppingly gorgeous and idc if the seme is attractive. i actually prefer if the uke mogs him but it’s genuinely hard to find yaois where that is the case bc often times the seme looks better.

im really sick of the uke looking like a plain jane while the seme gets a rlly cool/interesting design or he gets a glow up like a hair color change etc. and i always wondered why that was the case bc it’s almost like in straight romance where the fmc is basic looking but pulls a 10/10 and it’s cause she’s a self insert?

i can understand a gay guy inserting himself but since a large demographic of yaoi readers are females, fess up rn. i’m not mad. i just wanna know why the amount of boring mcs in yaoi is so disgustingly large
