is it just me or yaoi/bl hasn’t been hitting the same?? coming from a reader since 2017
obv there have been a lot of good bl manhwas that are currently ongoing but i’m mainly talking about when u go on the newly updated page its like 80% low rated garbage. idk i remember 2019 there used to be heat on every page. like u might not like the art but the story ends up being peak.
nowadays it’s like 90% new bls that only got 5-15 chapters. maybe i’ve just read so much i’ve rotted my brain bro, like i’ve alr been exposed to every plot and trope imaginable im bored i wore my pussy out. tired of the crybaby top x older bottom combo, yall wore it out. any kind of debt involved in the plot wrap it up. that manipulative black flag top x “power” bottom too, kick rocks. i’m tired of this grandpa like atp im thinking i genuinely got clinical depression bc i remember being a kid and listening to my blcd while reading the manga just absolutely gooning to yaoi all day and everyday and now it’s like. everyone getting raped what’s going on.

Yeah I was actually was just about to complain about this as well… I noticed that every trope is mostly getting raped and it’s so sad cause it’s also mostly the ones that has a pleasing visual and art style. I call this nostalgia because there has always been rape in mangas and manhwa, in fact to me rape trope is a lot less common nowadays compared to when I first started reading bl which is more than a decade ago, there will always be peaks whether they are popular or hidden gems, even now, if you can’t find it then you’re not finding it hard enou...... reply
I really thought that with the popularization of yaoi, we'd see far fewer yaoi with rape or sex, but nooooooo. We're getting more and more crappy stories with crappy characters. Blame this shift on lazhin or other paid platform who introduced pay for chapter so manhwa authors keep trying to make quick money by going for popular same old story to increase the chapters. So many new stories which should have stayed in drafts. Manga is still not as worse as manhwa over saturation.
