Should I tell my mom that I like Yaoi?
I've been thinking this question for months if I should tell mom that I like Yaoi. My sister and brother found out that I'm watching those Thai BL Series and read Yaoi mangas but they are okay with it. Also Mom approved my sister's relationship with another girl. My mom happily welcome my sister's gf. If mom is okay with my sister's gf maybe she can approved me liking Yaoi? But I'm a little scared in telling mom that I like Yaoi:<
I get why people are saying there's really no need to tell your mom you like yaoi as it is not how you personally identify as but if your parents know and accept it, I guess it'll just make your life easier ? I believe there isn’t a need to tell your mother about you liking yaoi, (yuri, etc.) but if it has to do with your identity or something related to that, then that’s completely different. But if you want to let her know you like watching/reading/seeing 2-D men get together, then just naturally let her see it. For example, buying a poster or boo...... reply
Aww honey, if you have a good relationship with your mom and you want to tell her, just do it! If you are scared, maybe think how to phrase it. For example, and I'm gonna use my case jajjaja, all my family knows I LOVE stories in general, and I'm super vocal about it, like I narrate some of the stories to them or tell them "OMG HE SAID YES", things...... reply
Personally, I never would. My mom isn't terribly chill, but even if she was, I probably wouldn't tell her. Yaoi is more explicit than shounen ai, so talking to my mother about reading it would feel a little like discussing watching porn with her. I know it's not the same thing, but it's the closest thing I can think of to describe the uncomfortable...... reply

Personally I wouldn't do it (in fact she doesn't know). She knows I love reading but this ends there. She doesn't know what I read apart from sometimes when she had to pay for some books so she would glance over the cover for curiosity, but stop.
