Bl manhuas
Guys let's talk BL manhuas. I feel like when we're usually talking about BLs and their storylines and elements we're mostly talking manhwa or mangas, but why not talk more about manhuas and what they bring?
I feel like I've built up a bias towards manhuas even though I enjoy BLs across the board and I wouldn't say one is better than the other, I think I just enjoy a lot of the elements you can come across in manhuas like either, martial arts & cultivation setting, ancient China setting, Chinese mythological figures, Chinese idoms and I think I prefer the comedy in manhuas and chinese mediums though that may just be because of 19 days, SVSSS, and the donghua You Yao. And I remember when I was younger and new to BL I wasn't that into smut so I was more interested in manhuas because of you know censorship and I also liked how because of censorship the romance may also be written to be more ambiguous, that's something I highly enjoy.
Though my scope of BL is very limited as I don't consume lots and lots of BLs so you guys may have different views. What are your guy's views on BL manhuas? And what do you think they add to BL?
The slow pace in manhuas would be enjoyable if half of them weren't just dragging on and on misunderstandings that could've been resolved earlier, thats my only problem with them it gets annoying sometimes reply
I don’t really have a preference between manhwa or manhua, but I second that the comedy in manhuas is hilarious. They def do humor very well. They’re sometimes hard/unbearable to read because of bad translations, but that’s no fault to the story. Three of my favorite bls are Kiss th Abyss, I Ship My Rival x Me and Trapping the Ofxy Doctor, I like manhuas. They're so consistently whimsical and dream like at times, it's hard to describe. A lot of their plots can just stink bit there's still so much charm packed in there and so many choices that are strange, all compounded by often shitty tran...... 1 reply
I don’t mind reading BL without smut, my problem with most manhua is just how ridiculous the censorship is.
I don’t need to see them have sex, I don’t need to see tongues being shoved down each other’s throats, but if you can’t even show a simple peck (not even a full kiss) without whiting in out or adding a well placed flower, butterfly...... 2 reply
The only problem i have with manhuas is it is so damnn longggg , cause wdyfm chapter 300 and it be those long panels not like 19 days which is a short comic style i understand that. But im slowly getting into danmei , currently reading that fish mpreg and i wanna slowly get into tcgf too reply
