I think I experienced racism?...
For some background info me and my friend let's call her H was beefing with her friend J J called H basically a pick me for including this guy she liked because he doesn't like being left out while hanging out with people H got fed up with J because J has already done bad things to her and even unfriended her on discord so our little friend group unfriended J on everything. I share a class with J. It was last week I was talking to my other friend and I was already a bit scared J might ask me something about her and H and why I unfollowed her, at the end of class she came up to me and acted like nothing then she started making comments on how my backpack looked huge(it was flat) and that I looked like I have a b**m in it. Then she said I looked like a thug, I thought she was playing but she had that look where someone does not like you... More background info im a lot more blacker then people in my high school no im not black im actually just a very burnt Mexican But anyways her friend was there and I dont think she got it and said we were wearing the same thing WHICH WE WERE(jeans and a grey sweater/hoodie) but umm was that racist? It was my first time experiencing that since I live a very populated Mexican city Thoughts?...
Definitely yea. Honestly I would have call it colorism, but i understand the US clumps colorism, xenophobia and racism in the same bag. So yea racism ig
Unrelated but is the first time I see someone add the -er modifier to the word black lol 1 reply
Mexicans and honestly Latinos in general can be incredibly racist and colorist, the only advice I can give you is to call out the behavior and embarrass anyone who treats you badly but i don't think Mexicans are ever going to be not racist reply
