Real Talk: Manga Boys/Men
I really miss the way male characters were drawn back in the 80s and 90s. Not to mention the way their personalities were, as well. They were unique, tall, strong and brimming with confidence. Nowadays, male characters are these socially awkward, teenage boys that think as long as they keep their heads down, they won’t become the target of bullying. Not to mention they’re always boring to look at. They just look so stereotypical Japanese.

I would take stereotypical japanese looking male lead then whatever western obsessed male lead in 80's and 90's japanese manga (lets be honest most of male lead at that time is half japanese half western gotta have that blonde hair and blue eyes somehow) reply
Well thats just how Japanese people look like…? Their features and hair color aren’t that diverse so idk what ur problem is. And who do you think is making the manga in the first place… reply
Idk how to tell you this.. Japanese ppl are some of the most racists ppl. If you’re looking for diversity you’re not going to find it in Mangas or Anime. You can have a black man in the story and they’ll say “nooo he’s just really really really tanned!!” But then you can have the same black man with dreads and they’ll still say the sa...... reply
