If social media disappeared tomorrow, how much of your identity would be left?
Saw this question on TikTok (ironically) and i realized I have a really flimsy sense of self, i couldn't tell you much about myself or my identity, i believe in a lot of things but at the end of the day what i believe in is just a small part of my being. Everything i like from anime, shows, movies, poetry, fashion and hell even politics is influenced by social media
It’s so painfully clear that you guys didn’t spend your prepubescent and pubescent years on shifty fanfiction sites without social media wiggling up your ass and making your decisions for you. Seek things out for Christ’s sake, watch the damn news.

It won't affect me. I don't use any social media. I don't have snapchat or an instagram or a twitter acc. I stare at people with confusion when they talk about a certain trend or an influencer or a celeb. My only haunt is reddit for a few things I need some advice on and maybe pinterest because I love looking at clothes i would never wear. reply
I would remain as I am right now. I don’t even use social media during Lent (old habits are hard to die)
As much as I love interaction with anyone , it hardly affects me. Watch news or read books. reply
I'd be left whole. I'm really active in the local punk and metal scene. I express what I like and my politics on my clothes. Most people know me and if they don't, then I'm happy to meet them. I read and make zines. Most of the bands that play have people I know in them. I love tagging things, it makes me feel like part of me will be immortal when ...... reply
i think i only make social media a part of my identity when i try to escape reality and perhaps myself. so honestly not a lot would change in a good way. but if literature & that kind of media got taken away it would be another story def reply
ehhh, i mean stuff exists offline, books are a physical thing that can exist without social media, so even tho my entertainment would be limited it's not like the internet is dead, besides with how my future's looking i'm gonna be too busy to even interact online lol 1 reply
I mean I never really use much social media so I dont think anything would change infact I think it'll benefit me much better if social media randomly disappears tomorrow ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ reply
