I'll say it. Heated rivalry is terrible. At least the show is. The dialogues are unnatural, the positioning and the camera work are awkward, the development isn't even there and I don't even understand how they fell in love, in 5 years or whatever they talked for a total of 2 hours and it just seems like a really long porn movie (because it's badly written and there's a lot of sex). The second couple is cute, sure, but again, not enough development. It had SO MUCH potential.
HR works great as a book(i assume) bc you can see the timeline and how they talk with each other over the years. it's difficult to show it on screen a little and it comes across as montage of sext,fuck,repeat. but people like it bc- attractive leads, good chemistry, and it was a mlm romance that sort of got plunged into the mainstream media. its sort of like the hype of '2gether the series' in thai bl, is it good? no. do i like it? yes. bc it was my first thai bl. it is special place in my heart.
i've heard this a lot from yaoi enjoyers tho. me thinks it's because it's a lot of peoples first gay romance media because it's so mainstream that they don't know quality yet but I still haven't seen it so I'm not sure.
