so many of y'all are like "omg he's so toxic" and "that's not cool" like if y'all hate toxic then maybe this manhwa isn't for you bc this manhwa is TOXIC. none of the characters is good. i fw gu dohun HEAVY he's my boy he's my son okay? beautiful beautiful beautiful, beautiful boyyyyyy. that boy hase NEVER really known human warmth and love. he's lonely. he's so fucking lonely, always has been. and the first person to treat him right, to stand up for him, not for his own selfishness, but bc he was a good person, was yuwon. and that's why this manhwa is named "unchanged man", bc for dohun, yuwon has never ever changed (for better or for worse) he's simply 'yuwon'. he doesn't hate him, he doesn't resent him, he never feels irritated or annoyed by yuwon's actions, bc to him, that's just how yuwon is. he accepts everything yuwon does. he's "YUWON EVERLASTING" (this manhwa's another name, and i like this name better) bc he's yuwon, forever and ever for him.
dohun ONLY ever has been attached to one person, and honestly it's so dangerous. he'd rather not get attached to anyone, but it's their "destiny", to meet. the tragedy is the meeting itself. the horrors of realising you'll never love anyone as much as you love them.
it reminds me of satoru and suguru (bc ofcourse, they're everywhere). gojo was so terribly lonely, born in a big clan, raised to kill, to be 'of use'. he never knew anything else, and fast forward, he's in jj high, and meets his classmates, and there's this....some guy with bangs from a common family, treating him like his pal and fooling around doing random shit, gojo must've thought at the start, doesn't he knows who i am? FUCK, he himself didn't know who he was except being 'the strongest'. he must've felt exhilarated hearing someone call him 'satoru' and treat him like just some guy. it would've been so scary and confusing for him. and he never once hated suguru, when he killed people, left jj high, the night parade of 100 demons, never once he could hate suguru. he doesn't know what hate is when it comes to suguru. he's his moral compass, after all. killing him must've killed gojo too. that's why maybe, he left suguru roaming around for 10 years, bc gojo didn't want to die. tragic, so tragic. would all that ever have happened had he just not met that purple eyed boy with voice sweet as honey? fuck this destiny bullshit. he would've done it all over again if he could.

anyway, i love when lonely boys with no real moral compass fall for the kindest most lovely guys with terrible fates. it's tragedy. tragedy from the start.

coming back to my thoughts on this manhwa, I think gu dohun is genuinely one of my fav characters. i think i like my characters actually fucking INSANE like that. where they do not feel anything except for when they're with the person they have taken a liking for. it's just SO good to see their perspective and what they think. it's so exciting to see them get swayed by This One Person. dohun is actually fucking insane. when the chapter ended with two guys fucking i was shit scared that did dohun start fucking other guys? i remember dohun telling yuwon that he's only ever done it with yuwon so i was like "wait did dohun lie?" and felt my heart sink a bit bc i like my leads VIRGIN! (idc if y'all call me prude or puritan for that i love it when they're devoted Like That, my perfectionist mind loves a "fist love last love" relationship. y'all don't get it like i do) but then in next chapter dohun was basically a cuck, watching to guys fuck, and i didnt know what to feel. i mean, its even more fucked up than fucking someone else and lying about it if you think about it like that, but i like how crazy dohun is. it was so funny bc dohun was not even hard, like this guy is just THAT DOWN BAD for yuwon hes not even attracted to anyone else to the point his body only reacts to yuwon. peak obsessive possessive unhinged yearner behaviour i like it lmao. im rooting for dohun bc yuwonnis js so broken i dont think he can ever get into a relationship if its not a dohun. i wanna see more of the jealous possessive dohun actually. i wanna see him fuck the shit up everyone bc everyone else around yuwon is scum on earth.
