I gave him a warmer skin tone but he’s still super white I say “THEY’RE SO WHITE” bcs they are in a way that artists like this cant draw darker skin tones and literally make everyone paper white and I DO find it hard to look at or read something when someone cant draw any other skin tone but paper white. God forbid a girl gives someone more realistic skin tones.

late reply, but you need to realize that your words could actually affect someone. theres actually people with a skintone similar to the og,(like me) and it could actually hurt someone’s feelings if they find out you think that pale skin looks ugly.
lol it looks like Disney did a remake of the author's og work. Why doesn't the OP make their own characters and give them whatever skin color they wish? Why do you need to do that to the og characters of the authors? And as someone else here said, notwithstanding your intentions (which were harmless perhaps), this may be disrespectful to those with a very white skin tone. All skin is beautiful, all amounts of melanin (ranging from 0 to 100) are beautiful. It was the author's intention to give them that color. Simple. Whether or not the edited picture looks better in your eyes is immaterial. To me, both look nice.

He does look better, however at the same time that *is* his design, unless it's related to his lore I don't think it's that necessary of a change (esp since you mentioned you might do the entire man what) aside from the fact that you prefer it that way. There's plenty of other BL manwhas with guys with melanin like for example BWAT's works, at the end of the day these characters are technically the authors OCs, unless it's a justifiable reason for the change eg. the character spends a lot of time in the sun like for example he's a sports club typa guy, it's not rlly necessary since that's the design the author wants for their characters. Not hating though, you did well with the recolor.

OP, if you don’t like a work, you can just skip it and look for something you do like. No need to ‘fix’ the artist’s art for them.
