In any case, I'd say if you enjoy the romance, don't bother with the book, it's a bit derivative from the musical (there's a widely accepted theory that ALW self-inserted himself in that production as the phantom, and his then wife as Christine, which is why we get...... reply
The phantom x Christine is so overrated, lowkey I think it's one of those pairings that mostly exists out of self inserting cuz he's considered attractive. He's old af in the novel too, apparently. Christine can do so much better than him.
Aside from that, fun show, absolutely love the soundtrack. The novel's on my to read list 2 reply
