Everyone is capable of changing it just depends on whether they want to do it or not, it takes a lot of selflessness and even shame to take to just change. People can change. They're always changing. Your brain just feels comfortable in predictability and in viewing something as inherently fixed. It likes to think it's either bad, good, better or worse. I honestly don't believe people can change for the better, only for worse. At least in my experience, every person who I knew "changed for the better" ended up doing the same shit or even worse shit than whatever it was they did at first.

I think its very nuanced bc doing something 'bad' can mean a plethora of things. sometimes actions of an individual can do irreparable damage and change isnt possible after. reply
We're always changing, for the better and for the worse. No one stays the same. I have A LOT to say about this. TLDR at the bottom. I had trouble with this myself growing up. I'm pretty much a hermit now but this has helped me deal with some trauma before I received therapy but still is a huge part of how I deal with people.
