Is fujoshi a bad title?
I only know a small bit about what a fujoshi is according to my understanding it's female fans of yaoi or bl but in comments I've seen mentioning the term fujoshi it's usually in a negative connotion or used as an insult? And I don't really understand why , can anyone fill me in?
The literal meaning of fujoshi is rotten girl. It's a meaningless term, if people want to see it as a good term they'll see it as that if people want to see it as a bad term they'll see it as such. Technically it is a bad title, it was originally conceived as an insult to girls who fetishize gay rs, which is also what yaoi was originally all about, but the genre has improved since then and has generated better works which received this new wave of audience who just calls themselves the same term coz that was how the og fans were called.

Sooo, technically yes it is a bad title, it literally translates to "rotten girl" and for fudanshi, "rotten boy". It's just a term for those who sexualize the idea of bl, in some cases, what they read or watch, they interpret it into reality.
