Yaoi being male centered part 2

Oh my god since my last post blew up and people just ran with the title and literally understood nothing about my rant. TBH I regret putting it on my title since I just wrote it thinking it matched.

I’m unsure if even people will understand this, though some replies in my last post actually understood what I was trying to say.. thanks for that!! You are queens!!

The feelings evoke too much on me when I was writing (very much so because I was frustrated af). I’m not looking for any male centered people to interact with the post since it’ll be hard for them to actually relate to it or even take one step to understand. It’s like asking the enabler for the abuser why they are defending the abuser.

And if u don’t want to understand that’s fine u can just ignore it.

So firstly, everything in the WORLD is male centered, we live in a patriarchal world that literally means everything was always for men. I KNEW yaoi is male centric because wow I’m so shocked because it features fictional MALES! I didn’t know that!!! Wha?

My frustration was people thinking women (NOT GAY MEN LIKE THE REPLIES SAID) are male centered for reading yaoi which was literally created for women. And vastly my point was ME, someone who doesn’t even like men and has very much distaste, hate towards them, getting called words that means you actually give a fuck abt men. That was my frustration! Because I don’t.

Not that gay men reading yaoi are male centered??? Nor about how I somehow didn’t know that yaoi is male centered ??? Also I do not know where people bring up yuri for, that’s something entirely different and I literally read the genre if I do find someone that I’d enjoy - just like any other sort of manhwa or genres. But my frustration was on people not really the whole yaoi itself

But after my post I realized how many women who were reading yaoi actually very indeed male centered and upholds the men are better idea + zero of understanding the patriarchy as a whole. I saw posts mentioning that and I didn’t agree with it until now. TBH that just sucks but as a true women supporter I already knew the biggest enemy is actually just women themselves.. and yeah if you didn’t understand this well it’s fine no need, thanks for your time

And I’m not gonna go in the misandrist explanation of why hating men is not the same as hating women it’ll just be useless topic. And I only mentioned irl gay men because unlike straight men, some of them actually do see women as humans and not objects. Are some of them still misogynistic? Yeaaaa

My thought was more like yaoi characters shouldn’t be represented as real life gay/queer people because yaoi is more of a coping mechanism that women authors BASES of cishet males! Not actual gay people and their struggles. Does that mean every yaoi female author writes it wrong? Nah, because there are still really good works produced by them that actually can represent gay men. I’m talking abt literally yaoi that are just hella smutty and toxic af that most of us actually do read and is hella popular which shouldn’t define gay people as a whole. Because they are fictional yaoi characters that authors based on straight ass men.
