Hijabs and Headscarves
Not really a get to know you question, but I wasn't exactly sure what category to put my question. As an Asian-American athiest who grew up in a Christian household, I'm not someone who had to or was presented with the idea of wearing a hijab or headscarf. I'm not very well verse on the cultural and/or religious significance it is in women who do wear them (correct me if I'm wrong, but I have also heard men are wearing them too). For those who do wear them, I would like to know what is your reason for wearing them and your feelings about wearing them? For those who wear them due to their religion, do you feel that you shouldn't have to wear or hijab or headscarf, or do you feel that it's an important part of your religion? If my question has offended anyone, I'm sorry and please know it wasn't my intention to.
This is a dumb answer and it doesn't directly address your question but I currently live in a literal desert. Most people SHOULD cover their skin, use a parasol, use headwear.. something. Temperatures in 24 hours range from 30-50 C° for like 8 consecutive months per year, the sun literally KILLS people. Air conditioning is of course super prevalen...... 1 reply
Yo i muslim and wearing hijab is a important thing in our religion i really don't have prolems with that actually i feel quite good wearing hijab cuz *whisper* I don't need to make my hair lol and bout men wearing scarf I think u mean cap or topi and the reason I m wearing hijab is cuz of my religion plus I like wearing it and in islam showing hair...... 1 reply
no worries, it doesn't offend me at all. People always have the misconception that we are being pressed by our religion because we need to wear hijab all the time but we actually didn't feel that way... (although its mandatory to our religion)

you know its a beautiful feeling to follow -YOUR- god's orders willingly, but when youre under pressure, it becomes hell, and that pressure is definitely not god, mostly family and society. reply
nah it doesnt offend me and as for me i dont usually wear hijab all the time but its comfy me and give me soothing feeling whenever i wear it,especially when going out :') reply
Wellllll..... Hijab or headscarf is an important part of my life but I don't wear it unless I'm out. My reason... Hmm.... Religion does play a big part in it but mostly it's my own choice.
