You know the more and more I go into the comment section the more I feel like I go insane.
I HATE being able to write my own comment and allowing others to be able to reply to me because I truly wish to know others opinion. Mfers will rlly comment “SOME people lack reading comprehension” and then fucking ramble on about allegories, metaphors, meaning, and some fuck ass bullshit to act as if they are philosophers.. trying to target so many ppl in the comments yet THESE PEOPLE can’t write a decent reply without being fucking assholes? Like am I going insane.
You know being able to try to have a conversation on this fuckass site is miserable holy shit. I understand not replying directly to a comment to address a whole comment section but when ur basically replying to everything someone has said just for the upvotes then what’s rlly the point? It pisses me off bc I rarely never go back to the stories comment section to read ts bc I EXPECT ppl to reply to me.
Some stories simply do not have meaning and is honestly a rape fest or some weird ass fucking fetish. Take for example JINX, just because the seme went through trauma and this and that NEVER excuses his actions or his dumbass thought process and doesn’t signify shit. Like is the lession “think before you act” LIKE THIS IS COMMON SENSE HOLY FUCK. Don’t act as if there is a real beautiful meaning behind it. Liking a story because of a chase arc or for how miserable the characters are or for how chaotic and confusing the story may be is not weird and shit BUT acting as if it’s the most meaningful impactful fuckass story is just plain dumb. Of course this doesn’t target every story but man some ppl just try to make it something it’s not.
One thing I will understand is if the story is just filled with rape and 10% “meaning” and ppl in the comments just talk abt how they love the sex and how hot a dude is for raping their victims, you should stay away from books and die like honestly.

I feel like I have discussions with myself like do I feel like this because the older I get the more these “tragic” and plainly disgusting stories don’t hit it for me anymore? i don't even mind a discussion getting heated, but it is frustrating that some people have a hostile response to someone trying to thoughtfully engage with a series beyond glazing, hyping, or jerking off to it. not every series is trying to be a heavily symbolic, deep literary masterpiece, but that doesn't mean they can't be examined or criticized for how they tell their stories. some very simple stories can be impactful and enjoyable if the art, pacing, and characterization works for the story they're trying to tell. personally, I like to dig into why I like or don't like things and getting into the craft of writing and visual storytelling, and ideally that sort of thing could be discussed in comments and whatnot, but some people react very negatively to anything like that (even if it's neutral!) and I don't really get it because it's not like they have to participate if they don't want to. as an aside re: jinx and other series of that type: rather than saying that they have no meaning or message, I'd argue that they often have contradictory, incoherent, or incomplete execution of whatever themes and characterization they're working with. their problem is how shallow they are (despite being adult-oriented stories) about so much of other aspects of the story in favor of delivering as many sex scenes as possible, so it obnoxiously feels like people are seeing oceans in puddles when they praise them like that. I'd agree that age can factor into it because your discernment develops more and you have more life knowledge to filter stories through, which can change your perspectives on some things. so it's a shame when supposedly "adult-oriented" media is written without depth or care.
