...Although I feel like the only sutdio that could REALLY animate it would be mappa. DONT GET ME WRONG THE DIRECTOR IS REALLY GOOD, but I feel like Mappa would get closest to what the artist envisioned in the action scenes. The studio that made Demon Slayer is really good, but idk, theve been using WAY too much CGI, and so have alot of newer teams. BUT! im really exited to see that an experienced directod picked it up, so it wont be opm s2 an s3 all over again. Thank you for the update! :D
Hmm, I can kinda see what you mean, but in my opinion I think MAPPA (+ ufotable, the ones who animated Demon Slayer) are a bit too overrated within anime fanbases. I mean of course I like their animation styles too, but they're not the only two companies that have a good animation and directing team. Not to mention the fact (this applies more to MAPPA than ufotable tbh) that their animation teams are heavily underpaid and way too overworked, whilst CYPIC has great working schedules and also don't have too many series so their workers are relatively not as overworked as other companies.
In my opinion, I think CYPIC NAILED the atmosphere and choreography of Kagurabachi and captured the essence of Hokazono's art perfectly. The "I have to cut them down" sequence in particular is breathtaking in my opinion, they literally animated it 1-to-1 in comparison to the manga. The lighting work is also gorgeous.
Also fun fact, MAPPA did try to bid on the rights to animate Kagurabachi, but were ultimately rejected due to already having too many projects under them. So I am honestly glad they're not animating it because it could have been lower on their priority list of animes and possibly even given to a less experienced animation line within MAPPA or director.

Now that I look back I kinda overthrew the fact that mappa has a more "messy" animation style, and Kagurabachi has alot of animating for water and the sorcery of the 7 enchanted swords, which in the manga is very "clear and clean" which ig Cypic does better due to the fact they dont torture thier animators, and theyve been doing this for a couple decades.
Exactly, CYPIC has great quality on par with MAPPA without having to resort to literal slave labour like MAPPA.
Oh but also I just remembered, apparently Tetsuya Takeuchi was actually involved with either animating or directing (can't remember which exactly) a part of the Choso VS. Yuji fight in S2 of JJK, so I guess you can say MAPPA is spiritually involved with the production of Kagurabachi through him. We're in really good hands, trust.
