Theory in why Korea wants to shutdown all pirated sites
We all know that the 4B movement is successful in Korea and Japan. Japan is on the verge on fall down now, and literally just waiting for it. Korea on the other hand is still on the way of what Japan would experience and to combat this, they're trying their best to remove any distractions and especially, the heavy consumer of manhwas are women(Loh, Rosli, & Krishnan, 2024). I know this is kinda stretch, but Korea is heavily patriarchal to the point that SA victims are the one being blamed because of it, and some abusers walk out scotch. Idk, maybe I'm just mad because of newtoki:((

Koreans just have this superiority complex when it comes to pirating and consuming media illegally. They hate it. People get death threats and major artists bully teenagers with their followers over reading manhwas illegally.
They treat it as a sign of moral failure.

They want money. Simple as that. They realised how much people are willing to pay and how popular manhwa is becomimg outside the country so they will put it behind a paywall. Taxes. Also cus like it's illegal, I don't know why we're kinda acting like this wasn't bound to happen since piracy is illegal?? reply
I highly doubt that the publishers going after people who redistribute their content care about society or have any connection to the 4B movement. I think the simplest explanation is the most likely answer(it's about money). Maybe they'd benefit from having us blame some progressive movement for destroying our favorite sites. reply
