If an author is on hiatus or is taking a break I believe everyone should just wish them a good rest instead of rushing them or complaining about it. It's like an untold rule when it comes to reading tbh. Nothing else really, just respect the author and their work, pick fights with readers or not that's your problem reply
Don’t tell the authors you’re reading their stuff illegally.
You can praise their work without letting them know you’re not paying for it. What’s the point in telling them?

Stop harassing people for giving objective criticism towards a story, no matter if it's a story/genre you personally enjoy or even if it's just a shitty porn without plot story. No story, no matter how well-written it is or how much you subjectively love it, is immune to criticism. reply
