The One Manga/Hwa/Hua You Consider a Masterpiece
Can only be one. The one. That one story that you come back to every time cuz there's nothing else that can capture you like it did.
My masterpiece: "Freesia".
"Freesia" is a psychological dystopian seinen manga by Jiro Matsumoto. I've read it four times and ready to go for a fifth. The story captures me every time, it's gruesome and compelling in the best way, more so than some of the top titles in the seinen genre. I would not recommend it to people who are young or who struggle with violent imagery, which there is alot of.
(Content warning for those interested: rape/ SA and abuse, blood and gore, war, sexual imagery and nudity, mental trauma).
"Heaven Official's Blessing" or in other words "Tian Guan Ci Fu"
That is my peak. Not only it had everything I needed, romance, plot, great characters with great backstory, funny moments. It is perfect in every way I see it

Ur asking a lot telling me to just pick one... I'd probably have to go with Mushishi. Each story is so beautiful & impactful. It was so perfect it completely changed the kind of stories I like to read.

Not finished reading but I'm certain this is my new #1 - Witch Hat Atelier! Multiple ppl have recommended it to me, but I kept putting it off. Heard about the anime and decided to finally start reading.

houseki no kuni aka land of the lustrous.... i have been reading manga for over 20 years, i have SO many favorites.... but none have made me sob, hope, and learn so many real life lessons/discoveries....
