Kinda serious question
In your own opinion SHOULD omega men be called mothers? Because I find it personally off that they're called "mom" By majority of people. Simply for giving birth but they're still men, they still have a dick and in some works is shown that omega x omega can produce an offspring.
It's a very unpopular opinion, but imma say this first on real-life basis. I personally find this take so problematic that you are automatically a mother if you have uterus. This is the mindset that leads to blame the mom first always whenever an issue related to the kid comes up. Like what do you mean mother role is only limited to women?? They pu...... reply
I love omegaverse genre! But like another comment said, idgaf what title/label the author gives his characters in their personal representation of their omegaverse universe work. Omegaverse concept and rules bend dramatically with who is writing the story and how the author wants to represent their personal thoughts for their storyline/plot so ea...... reply
personally don't think so. even irl, gender isnt defined by the body, so unless omega/alpha men/women explicitly want to be called something, father should still apply to omega men (and mother to alpha women).
also, theres many bl, mainly chinese ones, that aren't omegaverse that refer to the "bottom" (usually the person with less power) as a "wif...... reply
neevr rlly got why male omegas get called mom bc like wha? r they not still men? mother is inherently a term for women, no matter how u twist it so i dont rlly get this logic just bc its a secondary gender. no one ever calls female alphas men so? its just another way to take away from women imo w useless arguments reply
Just like what others have said idgaf. I've seen an omega being called mom and dad by their kids in different omegaverse and from different media. So it's really never been a issue for me... 1 reply
Everyone's answer is so complicated
Not to be controversial
But in my opinion
"Mom" is simply a term used by the child to refer to the person who gave birth to them and their first and foremost caretaker
In my opinion, It is not related to gender at all
Did I mention it is "my opinion" only ? reply
I mean it depends on the author if it's what they want I don't really like it but i personally just don't like omegaverse all that much I wish for more stories about gay couples adopting reply
The one who decides what to call their parents is the child. So in an omegaverse story, if a child uses “mom” or “papa,” it just reflects the author’s choice.
When I first started binge-watching movies, series, and manga, I came across a reviewer who said you shouldn’t apply real-world logic to fiction. Instead, you should understand an...... 2 reply
First imma say that I prefer the terms "sire" and "dam" in omegaverse before I get out the other stuff I wanna say.
You're saying this from a perspective of someone living in the real world. In the real world, we don't have primary and secondary genders (even if you're genderfluid, it's not that either of your genders are primary or secondary). If...... 1 reply
