lemme tell you MY PERSONAL annoying experience as a more "old gen" fujo (I'm late gen z so I've read bl since like 12) ANYWAY...
I've come across alot of fandom based on twitter and tiktok. When you hear tiktok, maybe you'd immediately think of nerd project fans or like lost in the cloud fans. But I swear bro, I swear... FOR ME, the most annoying fandom is PASSION fandom whether it's on Twitter or tiktok. Twitter not as bad anymore, because during early release I swear they be fighting with random fandom even fighting each other and you can't even pay artist because apparently there's "rules" from korean passion fans that as an artist you can't accept commission work for passion. You can't even post "excessive" spoilers because they'll jinja come to your dm telling you to "delete" your tweet (that's from korean fandom) they're actually still strict about it but not as much anymore.
And they'll be fighting with each other for couple as the author created 3 (and even 4) couple in passion universe and you can't even interpret independently as you'll be mass qrt with "you don't have comprehension to read this novel" you can't have fun basically with your different interpretation, you must follow the "leader" (popular acc) interpretation, you can't even mention Raumaan and Richard because if you like them, you'll be considered an outcast and they'll execute you if you don't glaze the king serial rapist ilay riegrow they be fighting with other manhwa fandom that they think the top is "similar like ilay", they'll think ilay is the original psycho top in korea even though their proof about passion novel being made from 2006 is from random unpopular unknown magazine like who tf read that magazine in 2006 (cmiiw) and the novel literally getting revised alot in 2017/2016 (around that time) and they deny the fact that japanese bl influenced korean bl as Japanese bl market was the first to get popular worldwide, they think ilay is the og psycho top in asian fandom and you should credit him.
I'm ngl I love this novel, I bought ALL even RAGA even though I dont like xinyuri as they're not typically the kind of bl couple I love. I also like ilay he's fine and handsome asf. But the fandom makes me roll my eyes hard. I don't know why this manhwa/novel attracted some kind of superiority complex readers with "i read elite bl unlike you" mindset. And I'm already distancing myself from the fandom, so idk what kind of fandom it has now in 2026. BUT LORD, I don't wanna involve myself in that fandom anymore. And I'm venting here.
Also the other most annoying fandom I PERSONALLY experienced is.. you're right, lost in the cloud fandom during the on-going/serializing time of this mahwa
You can also never say you personally disliked passion because they will refuse to believe someone can be uncomfortable with rape or just personally did not find the story appealable. I dead ass got called a porn addict because I said it was boring like I don’t even read smut
They jinja tell you it's because it's heavy on politics and I always laugh bc what kind of politics???? Literally the only time the politcs is brought up is when they just talking in mundane conversation, no real involvement heavy on politics
I love Passion and I wasn't even aware the fandom was that big or anything, maybe because I'm 28 and a lot of bl fans are still teens or children, I don't really get involved with fandoms anymore so I don't even know how toxic any of them are lol I just get on mangago, read my manhwa, leave, an go about my day

Some want the bl genre for more "problematic work" to not used bl, some want to keep bl as just a term for bxb relationship regardless of the dynamic. The "bl" genre in bxb queer story is still a debate until this day. People don't like it has "love" in it as there's no way this kind of story is love, some people think love in fiction is not always pure.
