Plot lines vent specifically SA and rape
sorry this is just a little rant but i am genuinely so fucking tired of seeing SA and rape for plot lines that don’t even need it. i understand that there may be tags which warn about those things because it helps further develop a story (and to each their own who like that) but i just don’t understand why authors add rape and SA when it literally does NOTHING to their story. i’ve had to drop so many stories because of the no consent and it leading to SA and rape when it literally isn’t even necessary. but yeah i just don’t understand what the point of doing that it
It's a fetish and it sells, more than enough of a reason for authors to include it considering this fucked up economy. Interesting stories don't sell as much and it's hard for authors to do what they love and make money at the same time, so you just have to suck up to the majority audience. There are readers who like reading stuff that includes rape and violence but I don’t know why tho.
Sometimes I think maybe some authors lowkey hate men so they add those scenes? Idk

Sometimes I felt like Authors are at gun point by their publishers forcing to add stuff like that.

Because most readers love it and so the authors keep writing rapeslop over and over to satisfy the readers. I’ve seen authors write noncon just because they had bills to pay and actually didn’t like sa/rape but as it’s the thing that will get them to sell, so they had to do it.
