Bls with other races
I rlly wish there were more bl with races other than Asian people, and god forbid a black person too… everyone looks the same and the barely any variety in designs and it’s just so boringggg. Why cant bl authors be unique with where their story sets place in and what their characters wear. Sighhhh, if your gonna put the work into drawing, why not come up with a good plot line and character designs too.
It's a result of Korea being homogenous and East Asian culture in general being colorist/ racist against darker skin and nationalities that aren't majority white. If you want better rep (and not just visibility but QUALITY visibility) you gotta look elswhere or do it yourself; at some point you just accept reality.

I agree, they start to all look and sound the same like there's a criteria for bl or something, and the plots are starting to sound the same too, If I described "poor black-haired bottom and rich top" you wouldn't know which bl I'm talking about (ToT). All brown or black characters are rarely seen in these stories and you never know what race they ...... reply
To be honest I didn't notice how fucking pale everybody in all these bls were until recently, but good lord they are paleee. It's so weird bc a majority of East Asians (w/o skin bleaching or any other changers) are not super milky white pale. So weird. 1 reply
Ive seen a few mangas with a character being latino or South asian. But every single one had racist undertones. At this point I much rather they *dont* put us in if theyre just gonna push they racist mind set

It's because webtoons/mangas are mostly based in korea and have korean or japanese authors only. You should try drawing yourself for a change instead of complaining. 4 reply
It would 100% be nicer to have more diversity. I understand that places like Japan and Korea don’t have as much diversity to begin with (as in non-Asian people) compared to places like the U.S., and writing actually good stories about other ethnicities means having to learn in-depth about cultures outside of your own, but the world would honestly...... reply
i honestly agree. at least make the asian mcs look diverse. and then when i see the background characters with the most interesting faces i feel cheated bc they couldve put an ounce of that in the mcs reply
