Am i a homewrecker??

Okay so this is a old experience, so i have this one friend, and this friend has a partner that likes me, one day they confessed their love to me. WORSE OF ALL IN PUBLIC AND NEAR OUR SCHOOL??. And obvs i rejected him, then a day passed. i went to school, and THAT friend confronted me about yesterday, saying how shameless i am to steal someone's partner, and hanging out behind their back, well in my defense I NEVER HANGED WITH THEM VOLUNTARY, we just somehow meet in the same places like cafes and library and more and theyre the one who greet and strike a conversation first, and i thought of it just a friend knowing a friend's partner. So yea obviously it was getting heated in the classroom because i was trying to explain her that i never meant to steal their partner, and theyre just ignoring each sentence i spoke, until the professor came in. Now im a so called homewrecker in school, and they lowkey picked on me everyday asking whos partner r u going to steal today. Dont worry though i survived that school since i literally fight back, idgaf bout them and i have friends that believed me, so happy school life, just with a homewrecker title

But thinking about am i in wrong?? I feel a bit guilty ngl. Should i just had ignored them everytime they strike a conversation and maybe none of it would happen??
