About the US or Canada (exchange students)
Yall I really wanna become an exchange student in either the US or Canada, Are these places safe for exchange students?? What I’m scared of is being lonely at school (cause like what if no one has the same interests as me or wants to be friends with me?) or getting a bad host family, but I’m also TERRIFIED of school shootings. Should I be worried about any of those?? If anyone lives in the US or Canada as a citizen or is an exchange student there PLEASE answer.
Honestly it really depends on where you’re from, because here it feels like if you’re from India or somewhere similar you’re pretty likely to deal with some level of discrimination, not always extreme but definitely noticeable. I'm a citizen in the US, and I would say it depends on what state you go to. I'm more in the south, so I can't speak for all of America, but, you can find a lot of different cultures mingled and mixed together in the more populated states and even in rural states.
