Dark concepts you would like to see represented more respectfully??
Kind of related to my last question but what are some dark concepts and tropes that do get put in stories but are straight up badly represented most of the time?? Obviously rape is the biggest one but other than that?
Mentally ill characters. Esp aspd, bpd, narcissism , etc etc. all of them are flatly written and constantly demonized, stereotypical, and romanticized. Sometimes their personality is all about their disorder and their tragic upbringing. 2 reply

controlling, jealous, and obsessive behaviors that never seem to have lasting consequences after "redemption" for the characters who have them. in general, if a character is shown to not respect their partner/love interest as an independent, autonomous person, I have no reason to believe that they'll respect boundaries and whatnot even if they have...... reply
Sociopathy.
Too many works go to the extreme with this and depict serial killers/ rapists, but I'm talking about individuals that seem like regular joes but simply cannot empathize with others. The behavior is often very subtle but still affects the people around them and themselves in a negative way (corporate bosses, police officers or soldiers...... reply
I would really love to see characters who do self harm done right, most people just portray them as emo loners who need attention and as a person who did sh that pmo so bad. it feels as though it's treated with less sensitivity and more like an aesthetic.....
Also kids who did suicide attempts, they always say shit like they're cowards for throwing...... reply
