Why do people like to defend the character/thing they relate most to?
Like even when someone or another character has a valid reason to have a problem with the character/thing they relate most to, people find it necessary to pick apart that person or character for having a problem with the character/thing they relate to. Why do people feel the need to do this? I find it's pretty weird. :/
Well you already have the answer, they defend the character because they relate to them. When someone critic the character they kinda feel attacked since they have the same problem/behavior, it's like a projection of what people think of the person ig. But I agree it's kinda annoying when they can't accept that the character is in wrong. reply
It's them defending theirself, not the characters. Take Jax for example from TADC, people try and go say he's "complex" And lost someone so it's "understandable" He treats people horribly. They feel attacked, feel the one being judged because oftentimes they haven't taken accountability for things they regret. It's just simply most a human want. Th...... reply
I don't necessarily relate to her, but I swear when people hate on Skyler White from Breaking Bad it's usually coming from a place of misogyny. Not always, but I will pick apart the language you use to describe her. It's kind of a good test though, like if a guy calls her a "b*tch" or a "c*nt", I will assume that guy is a trashy person.
